But the Chinese government downplayed the ramming incident insisting it was merely an “ordinary maritime accident’’ assuring a probe is going on. Earlier, the Palace said that it is prepared to cut diplomatic ties with China if it is proven that the Filipino fishing boat was intentionally rammed.
