Morocco will launch their defence of the African Nations Championship title away to neighbours Algeria after the 2020 qualifying draw was confirmed on Friday. Hosts Morocco were impressive winners last year of a competition restricted to footballers playing in their country of birth, trouncing Nigeria 4-0 in the final. Nigeria tackle Benin or Togo in West B for a place in the 2020 finals while twice runners-up Ghana face Burkina Faso. Including Ethiopia, who qualify automatically as hosts, a record 48 of the 54 members of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will participate in the 2020 CHAN. Gambia, Sierra Leona and Eritrea also did not enter and Djibouti and Gabon are serving suspensions after withdrawing from 2018 qualifiers.
