Green Island started well in reply and Brad Kneebone and Gregor Croudis shared an opening stand of 74. But once Kneebone went, the task got harder and it proved too much for Green Island. Culhane batted at No4 for the Taieri side and scored an unbeaten 104 as Taieri had a decisive win over University-Grange.
