Mint reported on 23 February last year about CDC Group’s plans to set up its own renewable energy platform for India and South Asian countries. In April last year, CDC Group announced an investment of up to $100 million to support the development of renewable energy projects in India. There is a growing overseas interest in India’s clean energy programme, with the government setting an ambitious target of putting in place 175 gigawatt (GW) of clean energy capacity by 2022.
