Thieves have used a stolen digger to rip a cash machine from the side of a petrol station in Northern Ireland. The incident in Dungiven was caught on CCTV and shows the digger, taken from a building site down the road, tearing the machine from the wall of the shop. The cash machine is then placed in a car which had part of its roof cut off. Police Service of Northern Ireland are dealing with a surge in cash machine thefts, saying it was the eighth such incident in 2019 alone. Shop owner Martin O'Kane told the BBC he's unlikely to replace the cash machine due to the rise in targeted attacks.
