Inspection team member Prof Dr Abdur Rahman Bhuiyan, also the director of CUET Institute of Earthquake Engineering Research, said: “We checked the flyover. Roads and Highway Department Superintending Engineer Hafizur Rahman and CCC Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam were also present during the inspection. On October 26, the Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) reported that excessive traffic had caused fractures in the ramp pillars at Bahaddarhat. On October 27, a team of experts from Design Planning and Management (DPM) evaluated the pillars and discovered no fractures as well.
