The Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) authorities on Sunday fined six restaurants Tk35,000 for breaking government rules by serving food to customers not carrying Covid-19 vaccine certificates. CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly conducted the operation. Sultan Dine of Nasirabad was fined Tk10,000 while Terracotta Restaurant Tk5,000, White Rabbit Tk5,000, Crab Restaurant Tk5,000, New Malancha Tk2,000 and Parshi restaurant Tk2,000. Meanwhile, six people were also fined for conducting business on the sidewalk in the Anderkilla area of the district. During the operation, restaurant owners were instructed to ensure that customers bring the immunization certificate and wear the mask at all times.
