CBI raids Chidambaram, son Karti's residences; Modi government trying to silence my voice, says former minister

The CBI raids were linked to an FIR which claimed that Karti Chidambaram received kickbacks from INX Media to facilitate foreign investment clearance for the media company in 2008. INX Media was then owned by Peter and Indrani Mukerjea, who are currently in jail in connection with the murder of Sheena Bora in 2012. Karti Chidambaram has maintained that he will come out clean as there was nothing to hide. The agency's move comes a day after it filed an FIR against Karti Chidambaram and Indrani Mukherjea in the case. The Enforcement Directorate had earlier issued a show-cause notice to Karti Chidambaram and INX Media for alleged FEMA violations of over Rs 40 crore.
