more-inThe Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha functionaries staged a dharna in front of the office of district in-charge Minister K.R. Rameshkumar here, demanding an investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Yergol dam project. The protesters urged the Minister to visit the proposed Yergol dam site to take stock of the situation. The functionaries said the ₹ 240 crore project has not materialised even nine years after it was launched. The pipelines were installed even before construction of the dam and several crore of rupees were siphoned off in the process, they said.
