Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), has met with Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, to discuss strengthening coordination between monetary and economic policies in support of macroeconomic stability and national development objectives. Discussions focused on recent developments in key economic performance indicators amid the economic reform programme being implemented by the Egyptian state. The two sides also reviewed frameworks for enhancing coordination between monetary and fiscal-economic policies to ensure policy coherence and effectiveness. Both sides underscored the importance of sustained coordination between the CBE and the Ministry of Planning to maintain a careful balance between monetary stability and economic expansion. They stressed that effective policy alignment is essential to supporting development projects, stimulating investment, creating durable jobs and ultimately achieving balanced and sustainable economic growth.
