Clow commented that as the climate warms, ticks are being introduced into places that were previously not suitable for their survival. She added that these new ticks can transmit various illnesses beyond Lyme disease. A professor in One Health, Clow researches the epidemiology of vector-borne and zoonotic diseases specializing in tick-borne diseases.
