According to the MP, the project to construct a jogging track along the breakwater of the Parakrama Samudra has been suspended due to public outcry. “There were many opinions about the project, from an engineering perspective and a traditional perspective about constructing a jogging track near the Parakrama Samudhraya. So we took the most prudent decision, which was to suspend the project out of respect for public opinion. He further added that caution should be exercised in any reconstruction of a historical site and that personal opinion should not be taken into account in such matters.
