ISLAMABAD: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Wednesday informed the Supreme Court (SC) that it has suspended the licences of 16 pilots and 65 cabin crew members for allegedly holding fake degrees. As a three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, heard the case regarding fake degrees of pilots and crew members, CAA’s lawyer informed the court that the degrees of 16 pilots and 65 crew members were found to be fabricated, therefore, their licences had also been suspended. “We have verified the degrees of everyone except for six people because they are abroad,” he said. “Pilots have the right to appeal the suspension of their licences,” the CAA’s counsel noted. The apex court then wrapped up the case, stating the degrees of 16 pilots and 65 crew members were found to be fake.
