Gippsland GA8 Airvan aircrafts are grounded in NZ following fatal crash in Sweden last weekend. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has grounded 21 New Zealand skydiving planes after a similar aircraft crashed in Sweden last weekend, resulting in nine deaths. CAA director Graeme Harris suspended the airworthiness certificates of all Gippsland GA8 Airvan aircraft, citing "sufficient concerns about the safety of these aircraft". Debbie Jamieson/STUFF GA8 Airvan aircraft regularly fly between Queenstown and Milford. The CAA has contacted each of the 10 organisations operating the aircraft in New Zealand to let them know about the suspension.
