Bail, bail… no bail In several cases of arbitrary arrests following the anti-CAA movement, judges in UP’s lower courts have granted bail to those accused of grave crimes like rioting and arson — even attempt to murder — while pointing out the lack of evidence and even slamming the UP Police over its unsubstantiated claims. When she and her mother eventually return to Varanasi, Kashyap doubts whether her landlord will let them continue living in the same place.
