No date has been announced so far for the election, an official saysAn advisor’s opinion on the potential timing of the 13th parliamentary election in mid-2026 is ‘personal’, the Chief Advisor's Press Wing has said. Apurba Jahangir, deputy press secretary to the chief advisor, clarified the interim government's official position on the balloting at a press briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Sunday. Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam and Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar were present. Asked when the election could actually be held following Sakhawat’s statement, Jahangir said:“No date has been announced so far for the election by the chief advisor or his office. The statements made by anyone else can be their personal opinion.”
