The National Consensus Commission has handed over its recommendations on the implementation of the July National Charter to Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor to the interim government. National Consensus Commission Vice-Chairman Ali Riaz and other members of the panel will hold a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy at 2pm on the matter. The recommendations were finalised in the last meeting of the consensus commission chaired by Yunus at the Jamuna on Monday afternoon. The July National Charter, which contains a commitment to implementing state reform initiatives agreed upon following a year of discussions, was signed on Oct 17. As the political parties had differing views on this issue, the consensus commission finalised its recommendations after discussing them separately and collecting the opinions of experts.
