But Maine's Blueberry Farmers Should Go Bust, That's How Economic Development Works

We have some muttering from Maine from the blueberry farmers, that crops are up, prices are down and people are losing money doing the farming--at which point we have to make the simple observation that some of those blueberry farmers should indeed go bust and go and do something else instead. For this is the way that economic development, economic advance, works. There is a certain added piquancy to this argument as I've already made it once today, in respect of India's farmers. And given that there seems to be a limit to how many other Americans wish to eat then w're going to need fewer farmers growing them, aren't we? Yep, fewer blueberry farmers.
