The police, however, said only one FIR and 14 non-cognisable offences were registered on Tuesday. A senior police officer said, “The first serious rumour this morning was a WhatsApp message about a lathi-charge in Vikhroli. Another that caught police attention was about BJP MLA Sardar Tara Singh being attacked in Mulund by Shiv Sainiks and being taken to Navghar police station for protection. Singh was at a polling booth in Mulund when there was a power cut. Our personnel at the spot intervened and asked them to register a formal complaint at the local police station.
