MANILA, Philippines — A provincial bus caught fire along the North Luzon Expressway on Tuesday dawn. The bus owned by ES Transport was carrying around 40 passengers when it caught fire on the southbound lane of NLEX Bocaue, Bulacan. In television reports, the bus driver, identified as Rodrigo Manlapaz, said he learned of the burning rear tire when they reached Bocaue. NLEX authorities were informed of the bus fire and immediately responded. According to the bus driver, the fire may have sparked from overheating of the brake lining.
