The incident occurred at Chairmanbarhi crossing around 9:50pm on Saturday, Banani Police Station Inspector Borhanuddin told bdnews24.com. He said they heard the fire originated from the gas cylinder of the bus. But, he could not say how many passengers were there in the bus when it caught fire. The fire crews were seen dousing the fire around 10:15pm. A Fire Service official at the scene told bdnews24.com that they heard no one was injured in the incident.
