Bus Éireann hire staff to improve information displaysEXTRA staff are being recruited by Bus Eireann in Cork to improve their real-time information displays at city bus stops. Every day 40,000 bus trips are taken in the Cork metropolitan area, figures from the National Transport Authority have shown. The Cork city network which accounts for almost 40% of Bus Éireann Public Service Obligations (PSO) passenger journeys has had passenger journey growth of more than 20% since 2013. Bus Éireann has said the growth in Cork city has been greatly helped by the reconfiguration of bus services in the city.
