Burton Albion have announced a £7m increase in losses for the 2024-25 season. The League One club's deficit has jumped from £1.3m for the 2023-24 campaign to £8.3m, with wages increasing by 53% in the same period. Burton were taken over by the Nordic Football Group in June 2024 when previous long-serving chairman Ben Robinson sold his majority stake in the Brewers to the Swedish-based investors. The group announced in October it would cover the losses through a shareholder loan which would be later be waived but that it was seeking new investors. Burton are currently 19th in League One, two points clear of the relegation zone after a 1-0 home win over fellow-strugglers Rotherham on Tuesday night.
