One of Invercargill’s main streets has been flooded today after a water main burst. Several Yarrow St residents' homes are at risk of water reaching them, as the water visibly continues to rise. Invercargill fire station officer Toby Pascoe said they were notified by concerned residents at about 10.30 this morning. Yarrow St resident John Hyde said he didn’t even know it had happened until he heard the fire appliance arrive and saw all the water. “All our water has been shut off, we can’t go anywhere but luckily our house is quite high up.”Other residents weren’t so lucky and worked to clear belongings from areas the water might reach.
