Burrito chain seeks to open in AthloneBy Rebekah O'ReillyA planning application has been submitted on behalf of burrito chain NAMO, as the company looks to open its sixth location in Athlone Town Centre. The application, submitted in November by Namo Comida Mexicana Ireland Limited, seeks approval for a change of use of the existing retail space, currently occupied by James McBride Family Butchers, to a food and beverage unit with a licensed restaurant. The unit, which has a total gross floor area of 108m², will also undergo changes to the external shopfront elevation, along with new signage. The restaurants serve a variety of Mexicana-style options, including burritos, nachos, tacos, churros, and enchiladas, as well as specialty teas and acai bowls at their NAMO Plus locations.
