A man has been charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession for supply of methamphetamine, possession of equipment, possession of equipment, possession of precursors, possession of materials and criminal nuisance. A bedside hearing will be held at Middlemore Hospital where the man has been treated for burns. One man who was driving along Beach Road told the Herald the ground shook and he heard an explosion.Emergency services were called to the scene after smoke was seen coming from a garage. The arrested man had burns to his hands and arms and has been taken to North Shore Hospital for treatment. A dog at the property was unwell and had been taken by Animal Control for treatment.
