BURNLEY, England — Burnley pushed Cardiff closer to relegation from the Premier League with a 2-0 home win over the Welsh club on Saturday, a victory that all but ensures another season in the top flight for Sean Dyche’s side. Chris Wood scored both goals for Burnley, which now looks safe on 39 points — 11 ahead of Cardiff, which remained five points from safety in 18th place. Wood had already hit the woodwork when he put Burnley ahead on the half-hour mark, as he glanced home a corner by Dwight McNeil. However, referee Mike Dean overturned the decision, to the dismay of Cardiff manager Neil Warnock. Wood then doubled the lead in the 90th with a close-range header after Cardiff failed to clear another good delivery from McNeil.
