New data shows Burnley's rolling seven-day rate of new confirmed cases of Covid-19 has increased to 256.4 from 145.1 in the week up to Wednesday. Rates have jumped again in the worst-affected boroughs in London, which was added to a Government watchlist on Friday. Data for the most recent three days (September 24-26) has been excluded as it is incomplete and likely to be revised. The list has been calculated by the PA news agency and is based on Public Health England data published on September 26 on the Government's coronavirus dashboard. Written by the Mirror's Head of Politics Jason Beattie it includes sharply-written commentary, a concise overview of events in Westminster and a sprinkling of gossip.
