Burning restrictions relaxed across Nova Scotia

Campfires now are permitted during limited hours throughout Nova Scotia, after the Department of Natural Resources relaxed burning restrictions Wednesday. (Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources)In the rest of Nova Scotia, coloured yellow on the map, brush burning and campfires are allowed between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. On licensed private, municipal or provincial campgrounds, burning is permitted earlier in the day at 2 p.m. The province is in a wildfire risk season, so the department updates burning restrictions daily. Nova Scotia's burning ban was lifted Wednesday afternoon. In the last week, it had banned fires — and fireworks — universally, as three wildfires were burning in the dry conditions.
