(File photo)An out of control burn off near Pleasant Point took firefighters 30 minutes to get under control on Tuesday afternoon. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said information at 4.15pm indicated “a burn off had got away” on Young Rd. “On arrival a blaze 100 metres along the roadside was found.”Two engines, one each from Temuka and Pleasant Point attended, she said. A water tanker from Pleasant Point was also called out.
