The violence against the Rohingya Muslim minority in Burma is “a textbook example of ethnic cleansing” as refugees continue to pour over the border into neighbouring Bangladesh, the UN’s human rights chief said this morning. Addressing the UN human rights council in Geneva, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein warned that, “another brutal security operation is underway” in Burma’s Rakhine state, with the violence “apparently on a far greater scale”.
