Burkinabé, Cameroonian and Togolese nationals set for repatriation


General News of Thursday, 15 January 2026Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has begun the repatriation process for eight foreign nationals who were convicted for engaging in illegal QNET-related activities in Ghana. “The Ghana Immigration Service wishes to inform the general public that eight foreign nationals arrested for engaging in illegal QNET-related activities have completed their custodial sentences and are currently being processed for repatriation,” the statement said. According to the GIS, the ex-convicts, nationals of Burkina Faso, Cameroon and Togo have been transferred to the Immigration Service Holding Centre in Accra, where they are being held in lawful custody pending deportation to their respective home countries. The Service also issued a caution to landlords and property owners, reminding them of their legal obligations under Ghana’s immigration laws. The statement was signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Immigration and Head of the Public Affairs Department, Maud Anima Quainoo.
