Burglars apologise before running off empty-handed in Christchurchsupplied The Redwood on the corner of Main North Rd and Prestons Rd, Christchurch. Two would-be burglars caught in the act apologised and said they were trying to feed their family before running off empty-handed. The Redwood Hotel owner David Hume said his business, on Main North Rd, Christchurch, was broken into about 3.30am on Monday. "The owners were living at the work address and managed to disturb some burglars and the burglars took off, nothing was taken," the police spokeswoman said. The police spokeswoman said the man entered the dairy about 3.30pm on Sunday, took some money and ran off.
