Burgerfuel delays opening of United States storesSUPPLIED BurgerFuel has delayed its United States expansion and is facing headwinds in the Middle East due to terrorism and political instability. Terrorism and instability in Kuwait resulted in lower sales than originally anticipated and in January the two BurgerFuel stores there were closed . BurgerFuel's expansion into the United States is in jeopardy after the death of the Subway fast food chain founder. The chain opened 12 new stores in the past year in New Zealand, Australia and the Middle East, taking the total number of BurgerFuel stores to 78. The outlook for some Middle East markets could change quickly due to the ongoing potential of volatility and terrorism.
