An acceleration in full-price sales meant that comparable sales were 1 per cent ahead of the same period in 2019 and 90 per cent ahead of last year, at £479 million. That was an improvement on the 5 per cent decline reported for its fourth quarter and ahead of a forecast of £455 million by the brokerage Jefferies.
