The company said pre-tax profits leapt 22.6% to £555.7 million on revenue of £10.1 billion, up 8.4%. In Europe, the company’s performance has been very strong, with revenue growing by 15.1% on the continent, which provides a fifth of the company’s total revenue. Organic revenue grew by 2.6% in the UK and Ireland, which together make up 13% of the group’s revenue. Bunzl also spent £445 million on acquisitions, the second highest in the company’s history. Although the business has managed to benefit from parts of the Covid-19 crisis, it feels ready for a swing away from the pandemic.
