Primed for the fight: Bulls being taken to Madurai on Friday from a cattle shelter in Coimbatore. These animals were rescued from slaughter and put on a strict regimen of nutrition and training. “I brought 210 bulls and established a goshala named Anbin Pushpavanam in Vellingiri area in Coimbatore,” says P. Shiva Ganesh, the goshala owner. Other bulls would be taken to jallikattu in other cities in southern parts of the State on a rotation basis, he added. “We are ready to adopt bulls if the owners are unable to maintain them,” he said.
