Bull's-eye for national archery competition

Bull's-eye for national archery competitionMURRAY WILSON/STUFF 75th National Archery Championships held at Massey University Archery ClubArcher Darren Day is keeping "the spirit of Agincourt alive" as the only longbow shooter at the 75th National Archery Championships at Palmerston North's Massey University this week. Day, from Wellington's Trentham Camp Archery Club, was one of two Kiwi archers who took part for the first time in the World Archery 3-D Championships that was held last September in France. As the only archer in his division, he was competing against national records "many of which are my own", and was enjoying reasonable success. Oldest competitor at the champs is 80-year-old Beryl Hall from the Auckland Archery Club. Championship hosts Massey University Archery Club only had six members and was set up just 12 months ago.
