In fact, after almost 36 hours after the crime, a gold chain and a purse were recovered from the spot where the mother-daughter duo was gang-raped. Several police agencies conducted an extensive recce of the crime scene but still seemed to have missed the gold chain and purse at the spot, raising eyebrows over the handling of the case.
