KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian police are keen to work with their Filipino counterparts following the arrest of notorious Abu Sayyaf sub-commander Idang Susukan in Davao City, the Philippines. Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) commander Datuk Hazani Ghazali said they would get in touch with their counterparts to share information they had gathered through interrogation of the suspect linked to kidnappings in Sabah. On Thursday, The Star, in an exclusive report, showed pictures of Idang walking freely in Davao City, raising security concerns. Intelligence also indicated that Misuari himself had reportedly picked up Idang in Sulu and brought him to Davao City, allegedly to seek an audience with President Rodrigo Duterte. In April this year, Idang surrendered to Misuari and had remained in the MNLF camp.
