That's the thinking behind Formula Student, a European competition where teams from different universities compete to design, build and race their own car. Formula Student is sponsored by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, an international mechanical engineering association that is headquartered in London. Formula Student DelftOne such team is Team Delft, which hails from the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. This Formula Student team is comprised of over 70 students, 11 of whom form the "core" of the team. At the end of the day, though, building a racecar isn't just about learning new things about science or engineering.
