President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed for understanding of Nigerian workers as the Federal Government attempts to address the pressing issue of the new national minimum wage in the country. Buhari, who represented by Mr Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, made the appeal at the 12th National Delegate Conference of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Tuesday in Abuja. “Government appeals for the continued understanding of workers in an attempt to address the pressing issue of minimum wage. Mr President further said that the present administration regarded the NLC as partners in progress and also reassured the Congress of the commitment of the administration to workers’ welfare. “This is evidenced by the numerous programmes and policies that have been initiated by this present administration in promoting the interest and well-being of our workforce.
