Enterra Feed Corporation, based in Langley, B.C., is planning a 180,000-square-foot facility for next spring. The insect-animal feed company intends to open it by spring 2019. Most of the black soldier flies — billions — at the facility are larvae incapable of flying. Even if some do escape, Leung said black soldier flies prefer warm climates close to the equator. Enterra plans to finish the Balzac facility by 2019, a facility in B.C.
