Facebook, Google, Twitch sued in wrongful death lawsuit on the anniversary of the mass shooting. Loved ones of those killed in the 2022 Buffalo grocery store mass shooting filed a wrongful death lawsuit Friday against a number of social media companies alleging they facilitated the teenage killer's white supremacist radicalization by allowing racist propaganda to fester on their platforms. The complaint names Facebook parent company Meta, Twitch owner Amazon, Google parent Alphabet ― which owns YouTube ― and Snapchat owner Snap, as well as Discord, Reddit and hate-filled website 4Chan. Also named are a body armor manufacturer, a firearms store, a gun accessories manufacturer and the shooter’s parents.
