The Buenos Aires subway line D will reopen on Thursday, Buenos Aires City Mayor Jorge Macri has announced. The line, which runs from the central business district through Palermo to Núñez, had been closed since January 8 for signaling system renovations. “We’ve sped up the modernization works and managed to reopen the D line ahead of time,” Macri posted on his X account. In January, the company operating the subway system announced the D line would be down while it upgraded to a more modern signaling system. In 2023, over 54 million passengers used the D line.
