Prices in Buenos Aires City rose by 9.4% in October, bringing yearly inflation to 146%, according to local government statistics published Tuesday. The city Consumer Price Index figure for October is down from the previous month, when it hit 12%, but prices have risen by 120% in 2023 to date. Educational costs were up by 15.2%, largely as a result of increases in school fees. Other sectors and industries that weighed heavily on the index included cars, bars and restaurants, and health insurance payments. Argentina’s INDEC statistics bureau will publish national inflation data for October on November 13, six days before the presidential run-off election.
