NEW DELHI: Most of the voters have liked Budget 2017 in Budgetometer, an ET online poll. 42 per cent rated the Budget 'good' while 26 per cent rated it the 'best'. Had he announced indirect taxes, he would have to raise or cut some of them. Any raise in indirect taxes directly impacts prices of goods and triggers immediate reactions from people.Third, income tax was lowered for the bracket where most taxpayers fall. That too created a good impact.Fourth, Jaitley's measured proposals for rural and agricultural sectors made the Budget look inclusive without appearing to be a rain of sops in the election season.
