MANILA, Philippines-The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has confirmed the release of the third batch of surrenderers, Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said Monday. Perete said BuCor recently released 35 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who surrendered in compliance with President Rodrigo Duterte’s call. The DOJ said the PDLs who were not supposed to be on the list but surrendered would be the first to be released. The first batch of surrenderers or 52 PDL’s was released over the weekend. The recently released PDL surrenderers are 35 bringing the total to 87.
