It took until the third week of spring training, but Bryce Harper finally got his record contract. The Philadelphia Phillies won the Harper sweepstakes on Thursday, agreeing on a 13-year, $330 million contract, the richest deal in major league history. Harper’s average annual salary — about $25.4 million — is not the highest in the sport. Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke has the highest, about $34.4 million, and the Colorado Rockies’ Nolan Arenado has an average salary of $33.5 million, leading all position players. But Harper’s contract is the first to guarantee a player $330 million.
