R&B star Bruno Mars won Album of the Year at the 60th Grammy Awards, the music industry’s most prestigious award, while one of his rivals for the prize, Kendrick Lamar, took home five trophies, sweeping the rap categories. During his acceptance speech, Mr. Mars, one of the music industry’s commercial powerhouses, talked about growing up in Hawaii and nodded to his fellow Album of the Year nominees, which included rapper Jay-Z, singer-songwriter Lorde and R&B artist and rapper Childish Gambino.
